I put this video together for Fania many years ago, featuring my homie Eddy Palmieri—one of the very best at crafting truly electrifying music. The video showcases powerful performances by three premier pianists—Larry Harlow, Papo Lucca, and of course Eddy—each taking turns soloing on the classic tune “Vámonos Pa’l Monte.” It also highlights appearances by Fania leader Johnny Pacheco on flute and timbalero Nicky Jimenez, while Eddy’s longtime vocalist, Ismael Quintana, brings his unmistakable energy and expertise to the vocals.
